Washington pie ingredients:

3	cup	Sugar
1/2	cup	-Shortening
1	cup	butter
5		Eggs
3	cup	All-purpose flour
1/2	tsp.	baking powder
1/4	tsp.	Salt
2	tsp.	cherry flavoring
1	cup	Milk
1/2	cup	cherries in juice -- chopped

Washington pie preparation:

1. Prepare one-egg cake batter.

2. Pour into 2 well-oiled layer cake pans.

3. Bake in moderate oven (375°F) about 20 minutes.

4. Put layers together with cream filling.

5. Sprinkle top with powdered sugar.

6. Serve with whipped cream.
