Teacakes Grandma-Style ingredients:

2 cup Sugar
1 cup -Shortening
4 Eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. Salt
4 cup flour

Teacakes Grandma-Style preparation:

1. Cream shortening, add sugar and eggs.
2. Combine with rest of ingredients.
3. Roll ou t, cut and bake 8 - 10 minutes at 350 degrees.
4. When I was a teenager, I can remember my grandma telling me the story about the small town of Pickwick.
5. Pickwick was done away with because the dam was going to be built.
6. She was a native of Palo Pinto County.
7. My grandpa, Lon L. Mason, g rew up in Palo Pinto, Texas.
8. She and I had many conversations about history whi le eating her Teacakes.
9. Try the recipe, and maybe, you can remember a story or two to tell.
