Red Velvet Cake& Frosting recipe

Red Velvet Cake& Frosting ingredients:

250 g Sugar
250 g Butter, cooking
5 Eggs, large (class A)
2 g Salt
1 x Lemon Zest
1/50 dl Vanilla extract / essence
250 g Flour, White /type 405 (common)
50 g Starch, Corn (Maizena)
10 g baking powder
200 g Mixed peel
100 g Sultana raisins
1/3 dl rum
60 g walnuts, broken

Red Velvet Cake& Frosting preparation:

1. Cream eggs, sugar, oil and vinegar.
2. Sift cake flour and soda together.
3. Add flour while beating.
4. Add milk slowly.
5. While still beating, add vanilla and food coloring.
6. Bake in 3 layers at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.
7. Press lightly to check if layers are spongy and done.
8. FROSTING: 1 lb powdered sugar 8 oz cream cheese 4 oz butter 1 tsp vanilla 1 cup chopped pecans Melt cream cheese and butter on very low heat.
9. Add sugar, pecans and vanilla.
10. Mix well and spread over cooled layers, top and sides.
11. If mixture becomes too thick, add a little milk.
