Red Velvet Cake 7 recipe

Red Velvet Cake 7 ingredients:

1/2 cup CriscoŽ
2 Eggs
1 tbsp. Cocoa
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 tsp. Baking soda
1 1/2 cup Sugar
2 cup Swan's Down Cake flour
1 tsp. Salt
2 oz. Red food coloring
1/2 tsp. Almond extract
1 tbsp. Vinegar
--Red Velvet Icing--
1 cup Milk
1/4 cup flour
1 dsp Salt
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 cup CriscoŽ
1/4 lb margarine
1 cup Sugar
1 tsp. Almond extract
Desugared OreoŽ Cookies

Red Velvet Cake 7 preparation:

1. Cream Crisco, sugar and eggs.
2. Sift cake flour, cocoa and salt together 3 times.
3. Add alternately with buttermilk to Crisco mixture.
4. Add food coloring, flavorings and soda mixed with vinegar.
5. Pour into greased a floured cake pans and bake at 350° F for 25 to 30 minutes.
6. Test for doneness.
7. Cool. Frost with: --RED VELVET ICING-- Cook milk, flour and salt over low flame to pudding stage.
8. Cool in refrigerator.
9. Cream Crisco, oleo and sugar.
10. Add flavorings.
11. Add mixture to cooled pudding mix. Beat until Smooth.
12. Add desugared, crumbled Oreo cookies.
13. Spread between layers and then ice thickly on the top and sides of cake.
14. Refrigerate until ready for special occasion.
