Maryland Lady Crab Cakes recipe

Maryland Lady Crab Cakes ingredients:

1 lb Maryland crabmeat
1 cup Italian seasoned breadcrumbs
1 large Egg; or 2 small
1/4 cup Mayonnaise; - about
1 tsp. Worchestershire sauce
1 tsp. Dry mustard
1/2 tsp. Salt
1/4 tsp. Pepper
margarine; butter or oil; for frying

Maryland Lady Crab Cakes preparation:

1. Recipe by: The Maryland Seafood Cookbook.
2. Remove all cartilage from Crabmeat.
3. In a bowl, mix breadcrumbs, egg(s), mayonnaise and seasonings.
4. Add Crabmeat and mix gently but thoroughly.
5. If mixture is too dry add a little more mayonnaise.
6. Shape into six cakes.
7. Cook cakes in fry pan, in just enough fat to prevent sticking, until browned; about 5 minutes on each side.
8. NOTE: If desired, crab cakes may be deep fried at 350 degrees, two to three minutes, or until browned.
