Lard Cake recipe

Lard Cake ingredients:

3 3/4 cup Cake flour -- sifted
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 3/4 cup butter -- (NO substitutes)
2 cup Sugar
1 1/4 cup egg whites -- unbeaten (10-12 eggs
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1/4 tsp. Almond extract

Lard Cake preparation:

1. * Mixed with 1/3 c water.
2. Seperate eggs; beat whites until frothy.
3. Beat in 1/2 cup of the sugar; keep beating until whites form stiff peaks.
4. In another mixing bowl cream lard with remaining cup of sugar.
5. When softened add flour, salt, and baking powder.
6. Beat for about a minute.
7. Add egg yolks, evaporated milk mixed with water, and vanilla and mix well.
8. Carefully fold in egg white mixture.
9. Bake in a 3-by-4-by-12-inch buttered cake tin for 30 minutes in 350 degree oven.
