Lady Bird Johnson's Famous Lemon Cake ingredients:

3/4	cup	Boiling water
1 1/2	cup	Raisins
1 1/2	cup	Brown sugar
1/2	cup	-Shortening
2		Eggs
1	tsp.	Cinnamon
1/2	tsp.	cloves
1	tsp.	Soda
1	tsp.	vanilla
3	cup	flour

Lady Bird Johnson's Famous Lemon Cake preparation:

1. Cream butter or margarine with sugar until light and fluffy.

2. In separate bowl, beat egg yolks until light and lemon-colored; blend with creamed mixture.

3. Sift together cake flour, baking powder and salt; re-sift 3 times.

4. Add sifted ingredients in thirds, alternating with milk.

5. Beat batter thoroughly after each addition.

6. Add vanilla, lemon rind and juice and beat 2 minutes.

7. Bake at 325~ in bundt pan for 1 hour.

8. Or, bake in 3 greased 9 pans at 350~.

9. ICING-Combine all lemon icing ingredients and spread on cake.
