German Layered Apple Cake recipe

German Layered Apple Cake ingredients:

3 large ripe bananas
1/2 cup Plain Yogurt
3 large Eggs
2 tsp. vanilla extract
3 cup Cake flour
1 1/4 cup Sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. Baking soda
1/2 tsp. Salt
10 tbsp. (1 1/4 sticks) unsalted butter, room temp.
3 oz. bittersweet chocolate -- coarsely chopped
---FROSTING---
3 cup Heavy Cream
12 oz. bittersweet chocolate -- coarsely chopped
2 tsp. Instant Espresso powder

German Layered Apple Cake preparation:

1. Preheat oven to 350F.
2. Grease lightly a 13x9 pan. Layer 1/2 apples evenly in pan. In large bowl, mix dry cake mix, cinnamon, water, butter, and eggs on low until smooth.
3. Then beat 2 min. on high.
4. Stir in nuts.
5. Pour 1/2 batter evenly over apples and repeat layers.
6. Bake for 40-50 min. or until tooghpick comes out clean.
7. Cool in pan. For frosting: In small bowl blend frostind ingredients until smooth.
8. Frost top of cake and enjoy! Serves 12.
