Friendship Cake Starter Fruit Mixture preparation: 1. Combine pineapple, 1 cup sugar and 2 tablespoons brandy in a glass gallon jar; let stand for 2 weeks. 2. Cover loosely with aluminum foil and with a wooden spoon inserted through the foil stir daily. 3. Do not remove foil or spoon. 4. Be sure to stir daily. 5. After 2 weeks add cherries, 1 cup sugar and 2 tablespoons brandy. 6. Let stand 2 more weeks, stirring daily. 7. Fourth week. 8. Add peaches, 1 cup sugar and 2 tablespoons brandy. 9. Let stand 2 more weeks, stirring daily. 10. Sixth week. 11. Strain fruit from the juice using a plastic strainer. 12. Do NOT use metal strainer. 13. Use fruit for ice cream topping, etc. Juice is starter for Friendship Cake, 1 pint per batch. 14. Note. Use fruit in juice NOT syrup. 15. Never refrigerate the starter. 16.
