Favorite rum cake preparation: 1. Preheat oven to 325°F. 2. Grease and flour 10" tube or 12-cup bundt pan. Sprinkle nuts over bottom of pan. Mix all cake ingredients together. 3. Pour batter over nuts. 4. Bake 1 hour. 5. Cool. Invert on serving plate. 6. Prick top. Spoon and brush glaze evenly over top and sides. 7. Allow cake to absorb glaze. 8. Repeat till glaze is used up. glaze: melt butter in saucepan. 9. Stir in water and sugar. 10. Boil 5 minutes, stirring constantly. 11. Remove from heat. 12. Stir in rum. optional: decorate with border of sugar frosting or whipped cream. Useful options:
