Favorite rum cake recipe

Favorite rum cake ingredients:

CAKE
1 cup pecans, chopped
3 Eggs
1/3 cup Oil
18 1/3 oz. Yellow cake mix
1/2 cup Water; cold
1/2 cup Rum, dark (80 proof)
GLAZE:
1/4 lb butter
1 cup Sugar, granulated
1/4 cup water
1/2 cup Rum, dark (80 proof)

Favorite rum cake preparation:

1. Preheat oven to 325°F.
2. Grease and flour 10" tube or 12-cup bundt pan. Sprinkle nuts over bottom of pan. Mix all cake ingredients together.
3. Pour batter over nuts.
4. Bake 1 hour.
5. Cool. Invert on serving plate.
6. Prick top. Spoon and brush glaze evenly over top and sides.
7. Allow cake to absorb glaze.
8. Repeat till glaze is used up. glaze: melt butter in saucepan.
9. Stir in water and sugar.
10. Boil 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
11. Remove from heat.
12. Stir in rum. optional: decorate with border of sugar frosting or whipped cream.
