English pound cake recipe

English pound cake ingredients:

250 g Sugar
250 g Butter, cooking
5 Eggs, large (class A)
2 g Salt
1 x Lemon Zest
1/50 dl Vanilla extract / essence
250 g Flour, White /type 405 (common)
50 g Starch, Corn (Maizena)
10 g baking powder
200 g Mixed peel
100 g Sultana raisins
1/3 dl rum
60 g walnuts, broken

English pound cake preparation:

1. SOAK THE RAISINS WITH THE RUM. WHIP SUGAR AND SOFT BUTTER UNTILWHITE AND CREAMY.
2. ADD THE EGGS (AT ROOM TEMP.
3. ) ONE BY ONE. ADD THE SALT AND FLAVOURINGS.
4. FOLD IN THE SIVED FLOUR, CORNSTARCH AND BAKING POWDER.
5. FOLD IN THE MIXED PEEL, WALNUTS AND RAISINS.
6. PLACE INTO A SILICON PAPER LINED OUT CAKE MOULD.
7. BAKE AT 200°C.
8. REDUCING THE TEMPERATURE TO 180°C.
9. FOR 30 MIN. CHECK THE BAKING PROCESS OF THE CAKE WITH A SMALL KNIFE, STICKING IT INTO THE CAKE.
10. IF THE KNIFE REMAINS DRY, THE CAKE IS BAKED.
11. IF THERE IS MIXTURE ON THE KNIFE, IT NEEDS FURTHER BAKING.
12. REMOVE THE CAKE FROM THE MOULD WHEN TAKING OUT OF THE OVEN AND PLACE IT ON A WIRE TRAY TO COOL DOWN.
